Recorded Announcement Device

Overview

  • Different to music on hold in that it delivers the full message from start to finish before transferring the caller to their desired number
  • Retell's RAD is normally installed front of the PABX
  • No extra ports needed on the PABX, save the cost of PABX ports
  • 100% concurrency, if you have 60 channels of ISDN30 and 60 people call at the same time, they will all get the message (unlike an IVR with only, say 8 ports, so that the 9th person on to call in cannot get a message)
  • The greeting message is before the PABX, so that the statistics from the PABX or call management about how many calls were answered by real people are correct. If a message is played by an IVR, generally that call will be reported as "having been answered", whereas in the customer's experience, it was not.
  • With integration through API can play one of an unlimited number of messages to any caller

More details

  • ISDN30
  • Fully scaleable from 2 channels to 1000
  • Part of the Sense range
  • Hardware and software designed by Retell
  • Other companies' RADs will often be one or two or more ports which play the same announcement per port. These ports will have calls queued to them within the PBX until it is free to play the announcement to the caller. This is very restrictive
