Installation

In order to set up individual fax DDI numbers so that people can have their own faxes emailed to them you will need the following:

1. Connect the ISDN fax server between the PSTN and the PABX
2. All the DDI fax numbers that you want to use will have to be purchased from your PSTN provider
3. These DDI numbers will then be programmed into the fax server and the relevant email address added to each number.
4. The fax server will then need to be connected to a LAN and set up with the correct network settings depending on how the site is configured.
5. You will need to have an SMTP email system for the email function to work. If so then enter your email server IP address into the fax server - this way it can email the faxes
   
   It works like this:

• Call comes in → the ISDN fax server recognises the number as one in its list and answers the call before it goes to the PABX → when the call has finished it will send the fax to the email address that was saved with the DDI number.
• Any calls that the fax server doesn't recognise will pass seamlessly through to the PABX

Fax software

Why a Retell fax server and not faxing software?

• Most fax software requires a network or on-going user licenses, the Retell fax server does not
